St. Augustine Matric. Higher Secondary School was started in Onnalvadi village, Hosur Taluk, Tamil Nadu by the Augustinian Missionary Sisters on 19th June 1996 with the motto “Searching for the Truth”. We are involved in the mission of imparting education, moral and spiritual values and discipline to help build leaders who will bring about a culture of peace and love which our society and country needs today with the vision and charisma of the management and with committed teachers and with the purpose of fulfilling the following goals and objective.

Clubs
CUBS AND BULBULS:
St. Augustine school is proud to have Cubs and Bulbuls for the children of IV and V std. It prepares the boys and girls to take up bigger tasks. Students are elected for Cubs and Bulbuls in the beginning of the academic year. This club helps in their mental and physical growth. Children learn to be independent and to live life in a disciplined manner.

SCOUTS AND GUIDES:
The Mission of Scouting and Guiding is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society. The purpose of the movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of local, national and international communities.
We at St. Augustine School always aim on the overall development and education of our students rather than only academics. Every year the aspirant students from various classes gets the opportunity to enroll in this club. Scouts and Guides camps are organized annually to help them to better themselves in holistic growth.




SCHOOL CHOIR:
School choirs provide a space for students to develop their singing and ensemble skills. They can also help students learn the basics of rhythm, tone, and dynamics.
Other purposes of school choirs include:

Studies have shown that children who participate in extracurricular activities have greater social connections and social development than those who do not
The St. Augustine school choir leads the school in prayer songs and other special songs for daily assemblies. The school choir also performs songs for various occasions like St. Augustine Feast day, Annual Day, and other important celebrations of the school.




SCHOOL BAND:
The School band is a group of student musicians who rehearse and perform instrumental music together. Students are selected through audition based on their performance by the band master. The band master trains the students to perform during major functions in the school like Sports Day, Independence Day and Annual Day. Through band students develop discipline, leadership qualities and synchronization.
